Head-to-head results can be interesting background, but older meetings may involve different managers, squads, tactics and competition circumstances. A record from several seasons ago may have little relevance to the current lineup. Small samples can also exaggerate apparent patterns.
If you include past meetings, show the dates and competition, explain what remains comparable, and place recent team information first. Avoid claims that a team is destined to repeat a previous result.
