A short run of results can be noisy. Evaluate the quality of opposition, chance creation, defensive opportunities, red cards, finishing variance and whether the sample is large enough to support a conclusion. Compare home and away performance carefully and account for schedule congestion. Statistics are most useful when their definitions and collection sources are consistent. Avoid turning a small sample into a confident forecast.
